ICG-SIOF Student Awards

To encourage students to present their research to other peers and professionals and recognize students’ contributions to the PRE’22 Workshops, the PRE Steering Committee was awarding a number of prizes for the best presentations by the students participants in either event.

The money prizes were made possible by the generous financial support of the International Commission of Glass (ICG), through the Technical Committee TC20, and the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF).

The available prizes, at both PRE’22-Mexico and PRE’22-Poland, were:

Awards for the best oral presentation (no more than 3 prizes)
[1st 600 €, 2nd 300 € and 3rd 200 €]
Awards for the best poster presentation (no more than 3 prizes)
[1st 600 €, 2nd 300 € and 3rd 200 €]
Moreover, three honorable mentions [100 € each] could be awarded.

Competitors should be fully registered for the Workshop as ‘student’ (in agreement with the rules of either event) and attend the respective event. Moreover, each competitor should send in advance an additional graphical abstract, that should summarize the contents of the work in a concise, pictorial form designed to capture the attention of readers. A student could compete only once (for one of the events and for one of the categories, oral or poster).

Further details were given in the Call for applications.
