Special Issue
CERAMICS INTERNATIONAL
An Elsevier journal (IF: 4.527)
Participants in PRE’22-Mexico and PRE’22-Poland Workshops are kindly invited to submit their full papers to this Special Issue. Contributions are also welcome from authors not attending PRE’22.
Ceramics International does not require publication fees; it also offers authors the choice to publish ‘gold open access’, that implies a publication fee.
Special Issue on
Following the tradition of special issues of Elsevier journals on Photoluminescence of Rare Earths, we welcome submissions of novel research articles for a forthcoming issue of Ceramic International on Photoluminescence of Rare Earth Doped Materials.

Special issue information:
This special issue will be dedicated to both fundamental and application aspects of the photoluminescence phenomena arising in rare-earth-doped materials. This special issue is open to all papers dealing with its scope, and contributions arising from papers given at the PRE’22-Mexico and PRE’22-Poland symposia are most welcome.
High-quality research papers are solicited to address theoretical as well as practical issues. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Fundamental photoluminescence phenomena
Optical, spectroscopic and structural characterization of rare-earth-doped materials
Rare-earth-doped crystalline and polymeric materials
Rare-earth-doped glasses, transparent ceramics and glass-ceramic materials
Rare-earth complexes, metal-organic frameworks and perovskites
Rare-earth solid-state lasers and micro-chip lasers
Rare-earth optical fiber and integrated optical amplifiers and lasers
Phosphor materials for solid-state lighting and persistent phosphors
Scintillators
Rare-earth fluorescence thermometry
Photonic devices exploiting rare-earths’ characteristics
Micro- and nano-structured rare-earth-doped materials
Up- and down-conversion for telecom and photovoltaic applications
Rare-earth-doped nanoparticles for disease diagnosis and drug delivery
Applications in bioimaging
All submissions will be thoroughly refereed according to the high standards of Ceramics International.
Manuscript submission information:
Manuscript submission is open.
Full papers must be submitted through the Elsevier Editorial Manager System (https://www.editorialmanager.com/ceri/default.aspx). When submitting your paper, be sure to specify that the paper is a contribution for the special issue of PRE’22, so that your paper is assigned to the guest editors.
Please see the Author Instructions on the site if you have not yet submitted a paper through this web-based system. Be sure to select the special issue article type PRE’22.
The submission deadline has been extended to March 31, 2023
Accepted papers will be published online individually, before print publication. Additional information about the special issue can be obtained from the Guest Editors. We look forward to receiving your contribution.
